GUWAHATI, India: India hope to cash in on their goalless draw against Qatar last month when they take on Bangladesh at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifier on October 15 in Kolkata.
“It’s going to be a perfect stage for us to get our first win in the campaign,” said striker Manvir Singh.
The Indian team is currently undergoing preparation here as they look to seal their first win in the qualifiers.
Nikhil Poojary, who started in the midfield against the Annabis, sounded ecstatic while speaking about the match.
“Everyone played their due part and contributed to earn the desired result. Gurpreet had one of his finest performances,” Poojary said of the match against Qatar.
Vinit Rai, who came on off the bench against Qatar, mentioned that the ‘never-say-die’ attitude in the dressing room helped them achieve the 0-0 result.
“The never-say-die attitude in the dressing room helped us get the result. We can’t thank enough coach Igor Stimac for believing in our abilities. Now, we have a major task against Bangladesh,” he said.
