Hangzhou (China): India’s Saurav Ghosal defeated Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsukue in the men’s singles quarter-finals to seal a place in the last four at the Asian Games on Tuesday.
Ghosal won 3-0 (11-5, 12-10, 11-3).
With the win, the veteran Indian squash player confirmed a medal at the Hangzhou Games.
The 37-year-old Saurav Ghosal opened his men’s singles campaign with a comfortable win over Kuwait’s Ammar Al Tamimi in the pre-quarterfinals on Monday. Another Indian, Mahesh Mangaonkar, lost in the round of 16 on Tuesday.
Two Indian mixed pairs also made the last four to confirm three medals for India.
