NEW DELHI: Lucknow skipper and India batsman KL Rahul has ruled himself out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2023 season and ICC World Test Championship final against Australia.
Rahul sustained an injury against Bangalore on May 1.
He will now undergo thigh surgery, according to the Lucknow team management.
Rahul confirmed the development through a lengthy post on Instagram. In his absence, Krunal Pandya will take over the captaincy of Lucknow.
In his Instagram post, KL Rahul wrote: “After careful consideration and consultation with the medical team, it’s been concluded that I’ll be undergoing a surgery on my thigh shortly. My focus will be on my rehabilitation and recovery in the coming weeks. It’s a tough call to make, but I know it’s the right one to ensure a full recovery.
