LONDON: Liverpool FC captain Jordan Henderson has signed a new long-term contract, the club said on Wednesday.
It’s the news Liverpool FC fans have been waiting all summer for – captain Jordan Henderson has signed a new, long-term contract at the club.
The 31-year-old midfielder recently celebrated ten years at the club, and a new deal means that the UEFA Champions League and Premier League-winning skipper will remain at the club long into the future.
It’s just reward for a player whose technique on the pitch is matched by his exceptional leadership skills both on and off the field of play.
The importance of Henderson to Liverpool Football Club cannot be overstated.
“I’m obviously very honoured and proud to continue the journey I’ve already been on here,” said Henderson.
“I just want to give 100 per cent to the club, I just want to play for the club and just run my socks off until I can’t run anymore, to be honest.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t get the three points [against Chelsea] but it’s something we’ll reflect on and go again against Leeds.”
