DOHA (Qatar): Manchester City star David Silva has received an offer from Qatari club Al Duhail to for the new season, according to British media reports.
The Spaniard’s contract at Manchester City is set to expire this summer, which will bring the curtain down on his trophy-laden 10 years at the Etihad.
And according to The Mirror, Duhail, who tops the Qatar Stars League, are desperate to sign Silva and have told the player’s representatives that they are willing to blow any rivals for his signature out of the water in terms of a financial package.
The 34-year-old is already wanted by a number of clubs in Spain and the United States.
However, the report suggests that there is a desire in Qatar to raise the profile and standard of their domestic game – especially with the 2022 World Cup just around the corner.
Duhail believe Silva is just to man to help do that and believe him signing will represent a major coup for Qatari football.
The Qatari side currently leads the league, which will restart on July 24 after it was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak in March.
