CALCUTTA (India): Mohun Bagan will look forward to log their first win when they take on Churchill Brothers in the I-League at Kalyani Stadium near here on Sunday.
The Mariners had opened their campaign with a goalless draw against Aizawl FC away last week on November 30 while the Goan side won 3-0 against Punjab FC.
The match would be broadcast LIVE on DSport, 5 PM IST onwards.
“Only two teams walked away with points from an away game in the first week. It’s us and Real Kashmir. We should have returned with three points from Aizawl, but we came home with one,” said Bagan coach Kibu Vicuna.
The Green and Maroons didn’t win against Churchill last season, but Vicuna is hopeful that his strikers will be on fire.
“We’re ready to face Churchill Brothers at our home. We’re prepared to show our best. Our only objective is to win,” said the Spaniard.
Vicuna is likely to field Spaniard Salvador Perez alongside Suhair VP with support from Julian Colinas and Joseba Beitia with an aim to inflict some early damage to the visitors.
