Jakarta: Portuguese Miguel Oliveira won the Indonesian Grand Prix, the second round of the MotoGP World Motorcycle Championships, which concluded today at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.
The KTM rider Oliveira finished the race with a time of 33:27.22 minutes, 2.20 seconds ahead of French world champion Fabio Quartararo, who started from first place on his Yamaha bike.
Another Frenchman, Johann Zarco, was third at 3.15 seconds in a race that was reduced from 27 laps to 20 due to tire safety concerns due to the sweltering heat at the track.
The race before its start also witnessed the withdrawal of the Spaniard Marc Marquez, the six-times world champion, after suffering an accident during the warm-up round.
Italy’s Eniga Pasianini, winner of the opening race in Qatar, maintained his position at the top of the world championship standings after the second round, despite finishing 11th today.
