DOHA: Veteran Tunisian international Youssef Msakni scored a hat-trick as eight-time champions Al Arabi thrashed Al Sailiya 7-1 in the second semifinal of 51st Amir Cup on Tuesday night to qualify for the final.
Al Arabi, who are currently second behind Al Duhail in Qatar Stars League, will face record 18-time winners Al Sadd in the final on May 12.
It was goal-rush at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, where Al Arabi dominated right from the start.
Arabi, who have not won the local league since 1996-97 season, have shown the right conduct and approach this season under Younis Ali.
Arabi led 3-0 in the first half and added another four in the final session to complete the rout.
Msakni scored in the 12, 45 and 90+1 minutes while Omar Al Somah scored a brace in the second half (72nd & 82nd).
Rafinha scored from the spot in 31st minute while Ahmed Suhail Al Hamawende smashed home a stunning free-kick in the 70th minute.
Substitute Carlos Strandberg turned one for Al Sailiya in the 85th minute.
