DOHA (Qatar): Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez said he wanted his side to sign off the season with a victory in their last round match against Qatar Sports Club tomorrow.
“We drew against them in the first leg. In my opinion, they are a very good team, seeking to qualify for the AFC Champions League next season,” said Xavi, who joined the team as a player in 2015-16 season.
Sadd have already won the league shield, and are the only unbeaten side with 57 points in 21 matches so far.
A win on the morrow will be a perfect tribute to their impressive campaign this season.
“Our goal is to finish this competition without defeat and of course we want to get three points. We will continue the rotation process among the players,” he added.
“I am very proud of the team and these players. It is easy to be a coach with this side because of the way they train, their sense of football and work ethics.”
Al Sadd player Hosam Kamal said, “This is an important match for us. The last match in the league this season awaits us and our goal is to conclude the competition without a loss. Achieving victory gives us an advantage in the upcoming competitions.
