DOHA (Qatar): Brazil’s Palmeiras club is on its way to agree to the offer submitted by Qatar Stars League side Duhail SC for Eduardo ‘Dudu’ Pereira, who will arrive here to meet the Qatari club’s officials.
The idea of coming to Doha is to make the player meet and talk directly with the people he should be working with in the coming years.
Dudu is contracted with the Brazilian side until 2023.
He underwent examinations in Sao Paulo and has a salary agreement with Duhail, who also has an advanced agreement with Palmeiras.
But lawyers still discuss bureaucratic details of the bond before it becomes official.
If the transfer becomes successful, Verdao will release Dudu on loan, valid for one year, for seven million euros (more than R $ 42 million), with an obligation to purchase if it reaches certain goals.
Duhail is seeking to sign “Dudu” to strengthen their squad for next season.
The unfinished 2019-2020 Qatar Stars League will resume on July 24 after the league was stopped in March due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Duhail lead the table with five rounds of matches remain in the tournament.
