DOHA (Qatar): Defending champions Al Sadd will look forward to maintain their current form when they take on Al Rayyan in the 2021 Qatar Cup semifinal tomorrow.
Star striker Baghdad Bounedjah will be the one to watch out for as his scoring spree this season has given Sadd a 13-point lead over reigning champions Al Duhail in the Qatar Stars League.
Bounedjah said that Sadd is ready to face the challenge.
“Rayyan is a good team. We will be focused to win this game. Everyone will place Al Sadd as favourites, but the cup matches are different,” Bounedjah said at a pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
“In the 2020 Amir Cup final, everyone expected Al-Sadd to win, but Al Arabi was a strong rival. We must be careful and present our best against in order to win and advance to the final.”
Duhail will face Al Gharafa in the other semis.
“We work with as a group with one spirit. I strive to score in every match and our team-mates support me a lot. Football is full of challenges and my focus is completely to win and claim more titles,” added the Algerian international.
