DOHA (Qatar): Qatar Media Corporation’s FM 107 Qatar Radio has dedicated a 30-minute morning programme on Qatar’s exploits at the Tokyo Olympics.
Titled ‘Konnichiwa Qatar’, a Japanese greeting typically from mid-day to early evening, the live talk show focusses on the Qatari athletes’ performance at the Tokyo Games.
“FM 107 is one of the oldest radio stations of Qatar which caters to the subcontinent communities mainly from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal,” said Radio FM 107 Acting Director Shadab Khan.
“Konnichiwa Qatar is a discussion show on the Olympic Games and is aimed to connect with the expats in Qatar. Our focus is to promote Team Qatar and its athletes at the Tokyo Olympics through this dedicated programme.”
The show, hosted by RJ Ved along with sports writer and analyst Mohammad Amin, is aired live on FM 107 from 9.15am to 9.45am everyday morning from Sunday to Thursday.
It is the first-time in FM 107 history that a dedicated morning show has been dedicated to sports.
The radio station’s FB page also has an interesting video that features a compilation of all the participating Qatari athletes at this year’s Olympics with the reggae rap “Olympics ka shor…” that gives an extra zing.
