DOHA (Qatar): The second round of the Qatar Off-Road Championship will take a place at Alkharsaah on Friday and Saturday October 22 and 23, Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation said in a press release.
The rally will be contested over a distance of 142 km and see 23 participants vying for top honours in six categories.
The first round was held on five categories while the second round will have an additional one, informed the organizers.
The categories are 450 cc, over 450 cc, Quads, T3, T1 and T2.
In Round one, 450 cc, Al Balooshi of UAE topped followed by Abdullah Al Shattivof Kuwait and Khalid Alfalasi of UAE, while in the Over 450 cc, Anderson of South Africa topped the speed charts followed by Sheikh Mohamed Al-Thani of Qatar and Fawaz Al Shatti of Kuwait.
In the Quad category of First Rlund Stuckens of Belgium came first followed by Brian Wolfaardt of South Africa while in the fourth category, Allouh of Qatar came first followed by Mohammed Ameer of Kuwait and Abdulla Al-khelaifi of Qatar.
The championship is organised by QMMF and consists of six rounds. The first three rounds will be Enduro (endurance) and the remaining three will be the Baja category. The sixth and final round will offer double points to the participants.
After the second round, two rounds each are scheduled in November and December, with the season finale to be staged on December 10 and 11.
Each round will be run on a desert circuit specially designed for the purpose.
