DOHA (Qatar): Qatar Second Division runners up Al Markhiya play the most important match of their season, a play off against Qatar Stars League side Al Khor at Al Janoub Stadium on Friday.
Al Markhiya are in the semifinals of the Amir Cup after sensationally stunning Al Rayyan, but a victory against Khor will give them place in the QSL next season which is as important as it gets.
“We want to win against Al Khor in order to play in the QNB Stars League next season. That is our ambition, especially because our players provided a very good level during the season against odds. We are keen to be in the QNB Stars League,” said coach Younis Ali.
“We now have the experience to play important matches. The team gained it also from games in the Amir Cup, where we have reached the semifinals.
“The players are at the highest level of readiness and, thank God, we do not suffer from any injuries. Talal Ali has put his injury behind him.
