Al Thumama win Qatar Amateur League
Al Thumama clinched the title of this year’s Qatar Amateur League (QAL) by beating Al Zubara 2-0 in the final round match held at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium.
Organising the QAL demonstrates QFA’s commitment to providing a platform for teams from the social, corporate and governmental sectors to integrate and interact through football in a fun and competitive environment.
The seventh edition featured eight teams from across Qatar with five matches being played every week.
The teams competing in this year’s QAL are Al Zubara, Madinat Khalifa, Haloul, Al Hilal, Al Dafna, Al Owaina, Al Ruwais, Al Thumama, Al Aziziya, Al Matar and Doha.
Meanwhile, QFA said it has decided to hold all remaining football matches of the Amir Cup, Qatar Stars, Second Division and Qatargas Leagues without the presence of fans in the stadiums.
This decision comes within the framework of the efforts and measures taken by the state to limit the spread the novel coronavirus in order to ensure the safety of the fans in the stadiums hosting the matches.
