DOHA: Qatar’s Ali Al Obaidli and Bashar Abdulmajeed won their respective matches to qualify for the Round of 32 at the IBSF World Snooker Championship 2021 here on Monday.
The competition is being organised by Qatar Billiards & Snooker Federation.
Al Obaidli defeated Mongolian counterpart Win Ko Ko 4-1 while Abdulmajeed blanked Bangladesh’s Asif Imran 4-0.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s defending champion Muhammad Asif also started his campaign on a winning note
Asif scored a break of 108 in the last frame against Khamis Al Obaidli of Qatar which the former won 4-0.
Asif won the first frame with a decent margin and then scored a break of 67 to pocket the second frame. In the third frame, Khamis gave a tough fight but Asif did better and won that frame by 10 points (70-60).
In the fourth frame, Asif got a perfect opening, which he converted into a big break. He missed the last brown and settled with a break of 108, which was eventually possible for 140.
