DOHA: The Director Development Department at Qatar Football Association (QFA) Fahad Thani said that they communicated with the FIFA on the resumption of the football season on July 24.
“FIFA made inquires on the steps QFA has taken to resume the activity besides the precautionary measures,” said Fahad.
“Another point that FIFA inquired during the video conference meeting was the technical equipment of the teams. We also informed them on the new football season.”
Last week, Hani Ballan, CEO of the Qatar Stars League (QSL) and QFA Executive Committee provided a detailed explanation on the decision to resume season from July 24 to August 26.
The decision to resume football was made after a circular issued by the Qatar Olympic Committee urging sports bodies to complete competitions of the current sports season after July 20.
The football details were announced during a response to inquiries from local journalists that were transmitted through the media office in QFA.
The decision to resume football are based on an integrated plan developed in consultation between all concerned parties – whether in the QFA and Qatar Stars League – or the relevant authorities in Qatar especially the Ministry of Health.
The QSL will issue circulars regarding the dates and determine the venues after coordination with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
