DOHA: The Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) has announced that the preparations are continuing in full swing to organize the 2023 Qatar International Baja, which will be held from March 15-18.
The competition will constitutes the second round of FIA World and Middle East Cups for Cross-Country Bajas, as well as the round two of the FIM Bajas World Cup.
The 2023 Qatar International Baja competitions will start with a preliminary stage on March 16, starting at 3:00 pm local time.
The QMMF’s officials expressed happiness at responding to participate in the 023 Qatar International Baja competitions a few days before the closing date for registration on March first.
The Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) recently announced minor changes in the upcoming rounds of the current year’s Baja World Cup calendar, in addition to amendments to the competition system this year.
The Motorcycle World Cup this year consists of 8 rounds in Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, and two rounds in Spain, Hungary, Portugal, and Jordan, knowing that riders can calculate the best six results in the final standings.
Qatar’s Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah won the car category in the Saudi Baja, 8 points ahead of his Toyota teammate Juan Cruz Yacopini in the FIA Baja Cross Country World Cup, while Poland’s Krzysztof Holowczyc ranks third.
Saudi drivers dominate the three places in the FIA Middle East Cup standings, where Yasser bin Saedan occupies the lead in front of Hamad Al Harbi and Abdullah Al Shaqawi.
