DOHA (Qatar): The Qatar Stars League will resume on on Tuesday and Wednesday with defending champions Al Duhail taking on Al Sailiya at their home ground tomorrow.
Duhail, fourth with 12 points, had beaten Al Kharaitiyat 4-1 while Al Sailiya had lost 1-3 to Al Wakrah in the previous round.
But the match featuring Al Arabi and Al Rayyan will be a top attraction.
It always evokes keen interest and is noted both on and off the field, mainly because of the clubs’ rich tradition, achievements and passionate fan base.
Al Arabi are in 10th place with five points while Al Rayyan are fifth (11 points).
Arabi lost ground following their 0-3 loss to Qatar SC in the previous match and Rayyan went out of the top-four bracket following a 1-1 draw with Al Ahli.
Al Wakrah, sixth with 10 points, run into leaders Al Sadd (19 points) in the opening day’s other action.
On the second day, Umm Salal, placed last with four points, take on Al Kharaitiyat, ninth with six points.
Second-placed Al Ahli (16 points) face third-placed Al Gharafa (15 points) in another much-anticipated clash.
