DOHA (Qatar): Sahed Sheji won the Soccer Juggling Contest as the part of ‘Year of Sports’ organized by Indian Sports Centre (ISC) under the patronage of the Embassy of India here.
Sheji had 167 touches in a minute in the online contest with hundreds of participants from Qatar and abroad participated in during the qualification round.
A total of 22 participants competed in the final round, with Ashir Salim took the runner-up spot with 154 touches.
Both the winner and runner-up will receive online shopping vouchers.
The football sub-committee of the ISC managed the entire event completely through on an online platform, with the Secretary for Football Safeerurahman supervising the proceedings.
Hamsa Yousuf, Hafees, Abbas Ooty, Thaseen, Renjith Raju, Rahmathulla, Helmi, Sidhiq, Arman, Ahmed, Moideen were the judges.
The finalists were divided into 5 groups, and each participant was given two chances to show their skills with the best count picked for the final ranking.
ISC vice-presidents Abdulrahman EP and Sharaf P Hameed, General Secretary Nisha Agrawal, Joint Secretary Arun Kumar and MC member Srinivasan also present at the host venue.
