DOHA (Qatar): The Local Organizing Committee took important measures before the start of the AFC Champions League East group games, which started here on Wednesday.
The month-long event will feature 15 teams from the South East Asia, and Doha will be the centralised venue for the continental competition.
All participants including players, officials and organizers were subjected to strict health checks which was a part of preventive measure to combat the Coronavirus.
Preventive measures included Covid-19 tests, use of safe transportation, regular sterilization of all stadiums, training sites and media facilities, in addition to allocating medical teams in the stadiums throughout the competition.
Mock evacuation tests were conducted at the three venues with the aim of ensuring the high level of increased readiness to face any emergency situation.
The stadium staff and private security personnel were educated on the effective evacuation procedures as Qatar prepares to host yet another top-level international competition when almost the entire Europe is under lockdown mode.
