Vasco are joint eighth in 12-team Goa Pro League with 22 points from 20 matches since lockdown on March 20.
MARGAO (Goa): Vasco Sports Club coach Micky Fernandes has turned into a drummer during the lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The Goa Football Association postponed the Pro-League on March 20 till April 1, and the lockdown has been extended till May 3.
With no football action around, Micky has decided to try his hands on the drums besides the regular exercises.
“I like playing the drums. It’s one of my child hood hobbies. I learn new beats,” said the 37-year-old who also played for Mohun Bagan, Air India, Churchill Brothers, Sporting Clube de Goa and Dempo.
He keeps himself busy at home as uncertainty looms large on the local league resumption.
“Beginning my day with a home exercise plan generally involving some sort of a cardio activity and Pilates along with core strengthening and a full body mat exercise. Workout need not be only in a gym with dumbbells or outdoors you can do at home. Mental health is also important by listening to music,” he added.
After hanging up his boots, Micky took up coaching and earned his AFC B-license this year.

at home to prevent the spread of virus.
“Pick up something easy and doable …like a jump rope what we all did as young kids. Mountain climbers, burpee, jumping Jack’s and the list goes on. Yoga meditation or dance to some peppy music,” said Micky, who won the I-league with Dempo SC and was part of Goa’s 2005 Santosh
trophy winning team.
As for the diet he said, “A good well balanced meal…mostly vegetarian fruits grains and nuts as of now due to the bird flu and me self quarantine … Away from the red meat and the formalin fish an
