BELGRADE: Venezuela’s Yulimar Rojas won gold in the triple jump competition at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in the Serbian capital Belgrade on Sunday.
Rojas broker her own world record in the competition when she jumped a distance of 15.74 meters to achieve her third title in the championship.
Kimberly Williams (Jamaica) took third place and won the bronze when she jumped (14.59 m).
Rojas had previously set a world record at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (15.67 m) on her way to the gold medal, smashing the previous record that had been held since 1995 by Ukrainian Inessa Kravich (15.50 m).
She also held the indoor record (15.43m) that she achieved in Madrid in February 2020.
