MONACO: Red Bull’s defending world champion Max Verstappen survived a mid-race downpour to win the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday from Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso.
A magnificent drive from Max brings up the 39th victory of his career.
This was Verstappen’s fourth win in six races this year. He moved 39 points clear of team-mate Sergio Perez in the championship.
“That was very lovely. To win it in this way, makes it extra special. A great weekend which we executed really well! An amazing job by everyone in the team,” Verstappen tweeted on his Twitter handle.
