DOHA: The Qatar Rugby and Hockey Committee has been approved as official member of the World Rugby Union during the annual meeting of the World Rugby Council and based on the recommendations of the Executive Board and the Regional Committee.
In a statement today, the committee announced that it had received an official letter from the international body with approval to become a full member of the federation after the annual meeting of the World Rugby Council that was held recently.
It added that the World Rugby Union approved the recommendations of the Executive Board and the Regional Committee on the full membership of three countries: Qatar, Turkiye and Nepal after the three countries met the necessary governance criteria. (QNA)
